Easy Makeup Bags

This year for Christmas I’m making all the girls makeup bags (much faster than knitting!)  I used this tutorial except I don’t always add the tabs.  I also made them a little smaller, 9″ x 6″ rectangles to start.   You can easily alter the shape of these bags by playing around with the size of the boxed corners.

I mostly used fat quarters I bought from Big Lots and Joann’s.  They’re a great deal when on sale for just $1!  I buy my zippers from Zip It on Etsy.

And one other great feature of the Silhouette Cameo is that you can cut out fabric!  I bought some Heat n’ Bond Lite, ironed it onto the fabric, then ran it through the Silhouette.  Now I have a cute applique that I can iron onto anything!
