One of my best friends just introduced me to the Whirley Pop – the absolute best thing for making popcorn. I’ve always loved popcorn since it’s a healthy snack and there’s so many ways to jazz it up! I ended up buying 6 of these this season to give as Christmas gifts – they’re perfect for everyone – I mean who doesn’t like popcorn?! They’re around $20, but I bought mine from Bed Bath and Beyond – using the 20% off coupons. You can use as many coupons as you want (1 per item) and they take ’em even if they’re expired.
So far I’ve only made the classic butter and salt and kettle corn – both turned out so delish! Here’s the kettle corn recipe – it’s so easy you’ll want to make it every day.
Kettle Corn Recipe
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 4 heaping teaspoons of sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
Directions: Put oil, popcorn and sugar into the Whirley Pop and place on stove over medium heat. Start cranking once you hear the first kernel pop. Keep cranking until you don’t hear any kernels popping anymore (about 3 minutes). Remove immediately from heat and pour into a large bowl. Sprinkle with salt and enjoy!
