During my recent trip to Japan we visited a fabric dyeing shop in Kyoto. I got to make this handkerchief using the Yuzen stenciling technique. The sushi images are done in layers with super light applications of paint.
Last night’s Paint Nite event.
Another fun painting night with my favorite instructor at Paint Night.
Last night my friend Nima and I had so much fun at yet another painting party. Lately I’ve only been able to go to these events rather than sewing or knitting because I’ve just moved and haven’t unpacked my craft room yet. And these painting parties are a great way to satisfy my craft tendencies!
Last night Jules and I did another Painting & Vino event where we painted a version of Monet’s Japanese Footbridge. This one wasn’t too hard and I liked the 98 Bottles venue in Little Italy. Their flatbreads are really good!
On Monday I attended another Painting & Vino event, this time with my mother-in-law. This painting was really hard and I feel like I needed more than the 3 hours allotted.
This is my favorite painting but my least favorite venue for Paint Nite. It was at Q’s in Vista which is too far and had awful food. Also the setup had some of the students with their backs to the instructor.
